Prototype Game: Pollen

Dare to be Digital is a student games competition where teams of five compete to build prototype game levels in just ten weeks over the summer.

Working full time and supported by a series of games industry mentors my team, Digital Colony, built Pollen, a swarm based platform-puzzle sort of adventure. The videos below show some the trailer, gameplay and some development footage from the project.

Technical Stuff

We worked with XNA in C# and although this was our first project using the language, it was not a major change from C++. Working with XNAnimation and EasyConfig libraries however did present some difficulties; that said I’ve yet to find any importer and exporter pair that let .FBX files play nicely.
