At The Beginning Again

January 8th, 2008

closeThis post was published 4 years 4 months 12 days ago and as such probably does not reflect my current opinions, knowledge or ability.

So after spending most of the Christmas holidays trying to build my website, I’ve eventually settled for using a WordPress blog instead. The site was going well, but with term starting again I wouldn’t have time to complete it, so this seemed a far more sensible option. And it still looks pretty much the same.

I’d like to try and migrate some of my more interesting older content over to here, but since I’d have to do it manually I’m not sure how realistic a goal that is. I may repost a couple of articles which were particularly popular (well, popular for a blog read by only 3 people including my mum).

As you can see (unless you’re sensibly using an adblocker of some sort) the site is now supported by adsense. I’m not running this blog for money, but it would be nice for my hosting fees to pay for themself.

Anyway, the site will be updated as often as I feel fit, most likely a few times a week, so sign up to the RSS feed and wish me luck.

    Congratulations. Finally up again :)
Your website in progress was good but you being the perfectionist you are weren’t happy. Ahh well, some things just don’t make it. As it is, it all looks good and to your original plan.
Here’s your luck for your site

    Thank You ^^
I liked the other site but it was badly designed from the start and I didn’t want to use something I couldn’t build on later without ripping it apart. Plus I didn’t have time to hunt down the (many, most likely) security holes and get on with coursework.

I guess, saying that, now term’s started I’m planning my next procrastination topic myself :P so maybe I should not pretend to understand

I thought designing a huge RPG that you couldn’t possibly finish in time to submit as coursework was your latest project?

and my new one :) The last one was just experience. I’ll probably try and incorporate this as my PS2 coursework as well, as I’ve made a similar framework for the GP2X it shouldn’t be too hard really, right?
Plus how cool would it be to have my game running on a handheld and a console? Plus, as it’s going to be SDL based for the GP2X, I could easily compile it for Windows and Linux.
And just because I don’t finish it doesn’t mean it won’t get worked on… GPL baby :P

Of course, sounds good to me, hopefully I’ll have more than 10 lines of code by then :P We shall see :)
